It’s ironic how focused our culture seems to be on food and yet at the same time confused about what foods to eat or not eat, what zone to be in or how to eat for a certain body type. As the questions, confusion and distortions about food grow, the health of Americans continues to decline.
As a dietitian and nutritionist for 30 years, I feel strongly that nutrition education is needed to guide individuals back to a normal pattern of eating that supports health but also lets food provide enjoyment. The diet we choose to follow is under our control. Choices made at every meal about what foods to eat and how much, have a significant impact on our health.
